DUTCH ADVERTISERS JURY ASSOCIATION

THE ORGANISATION
The Stichting Adverteerdersjury Nederland (SAN = Dutch Advertisers Jury Association) was established in 1988 in order to utilise the knowledge and experience of advertisers for making a structural contribution to the discipline of communication. To that end, the SAN produces the SAN Yearbook containing an overview of relevant advertising campaigns from the previous year, divided into 10 categories plus an extra overall category called Integrated Communication. A jury consisting of a total of 240 marketing and communication professionals judges the various campaigns in each category. The winning campaigns are awarded a SAN Accent. The Accents are awarded to the winners in May during a festive celebration. On the same evening, the awards for the “Advertiser of the Year”, the “Agency of the Year” and the “Consistent Accent” are also announced. These three so-called ABC Major Accents are selected by a jury composed of 12 members representing SAN management, editors of the trade journal Adformatie, (management) members of the Bond van Adverteerders (BvA = Dutch association of advertisers) and external experts.
